HI!! I need help understanding. I have went to tutoring, but I'm still not understanding this. PLEASE BE INFORMATIVE THIS IS NOT EVEN HALF OF MY QUESTIONS!

Classify each expression as a polynomial or not.  If the expression is a polynomial, name it according to its degree and its number of terms.

  1. f(x) = 2x2 + 3x + √x
  2. f(x) = x+ 3x4 – 11x3 + 7x2 + 2x – 5
  3. f(x) = x√3 + x – 5

Write the Polynomial in standard form, then identify its leading coefficient and constants term.

  1.  x2y+ x4y + 7

State the Maxium possible number of "turns"  in the graph of each polynomial.

  1. f(x)=x+ 3x4 – 11x3 + 7x2 + 2x – 5

Complete the statements by fillinf in the blanks for each polynomial

  1.                     f(x) = x3 – 6x

Right End Behavior: As x --> ∞, f(x) --> _____.

Left End Behavior: As x --> ∞, f(x) --> ______.

1) Is NOT a polynomial because one of the variable terms is a square root; for it to be a polynomial, the exponent of each variable must be a positive whole number (possibly zero).

2) Is a polynomial; a quintic because the highest power of a variable is 5.

3) Is a polynomial; a quadratic because the highest power of a variable is 2. (The constants may be square roots, the variables can't.)

1)  x4y + x2y2 + 7

      The leading coefficient is 1 ( the coefficient of the x4y term)

       The constant term is 7.

1)  The maximum number of turns is 4, one fewer than the largest exponent.

1)  Right-end behavior:  approaches infinity.

      Left-end behavior:  approaches negative infinity.
