The digits from 1 to 6 are arranged to form a six-digit multiple of 5. What is the probability that the number is greater than 500,000 and even? Express your answer as a common fraction.

6!  numbers can be made = 720 numbers

 

Numbers must end in 5 to be a multiple of 5 

  if the number ends in 5 , the first number cannot be a 5    so the only numbers > 500 000 will be the ones that start with a 6

     6 x x x x 5    will all be greater than 500 000  

             for the x's :  4 * 3 * 2 * 1 =   24 numbers out of 720 possible

 

24/720  <=====  simplify as needed
