You take the four Aces, four 2's, and four 3's from a standard deck of 52 cards, forming a set of 12 cards. You then draw three cards at random.  What is the probability that you get an Ace, a 2, and a 3?

this is a dependant probability thing

so what we have is  A A A A 2 2 2 2 3 3 3 3 -- what is the chance of us getting all distinct letters?

eachtime we pull, we take one right card, and then the probability to find the other ones is by eliminating the left three of that particular card, so:

$ \frac{12}{12} \frac{8}{11} \frac{4}{10}   $

therefore, the prob. of us pulling an ace, a two and a three is $ \frac{16}{55}  $
