It's definitely not a right triangle......we can use the Law of Cosines to find the largest angle

15^2 = 9^2 + 8^2  - 2(9)(8)cos (theta)

[15^2 - 9^2 - 8^2] / [ -2(9)(8) ] = cos(theta)

cos-1  (  [15^2 - 9^2 - 8^2] / [ -2(9)(8) ] )  = theta  =   123.7°

So....this triangle  is  obtuse
