+10 Please help solve this parabola problem for a). What I have so far is 9 = a(1-8)^2 + q since y need to be 9 when x is 1 to not hit the black board but not sure how to find the vertex for y. What I know is vertex y need to be more than 10 to hit the hoop but if its over 30 the player would need to have use stuff to make him taller so how can I find the vertex with him at his natural height.
