$$V=\pi r^2h_b + \frac{1}{3}\pi r^2 h_t\\ 72\pi=\pi r^2*9 + \frac{1}{3}\pi r^2 *9\\ 72\pi=\pi r^2*9 + \pi r^2 *3\\ 24= r^2*3 + r^2\\ 24= 4r^2\\ 6= r^2\\ r=\sqrt{6}\;units$$
