What is 23245^-1/3?

The question that you have written is (23245^-1)/3 whereas

I assume that you mean 232456 ^ ( -1/3)

or better written as 232456 (-1/3) The brackets arn't really needed here but they still make it a little easier to read.

You have to be very careful with powers if you use the ^ sign. Make good use of brackets to emphasize your meaning.
If you had used the sup button located above the smilies there would be less room for these types of misunderstandings.
Okay I am going to solve

232456 (-1/3)

= 1 / 232456 (+1/3) If something is raised to a negative power, swap it to the other side of the fraction line and change the - sign to a + sign.
= 1/ [cube root of 232456]

This doesn't help much because the cube root of 232456 is not a pretty number so maybe it would be best just to do it straight on the cacluator right from the beginning.

232456 ^ (-1/3) = 0.01626 (correct to 5 decimal places or to 4 significant figures)
