Let's start by finding a unit rate. Dividing the price by pounds will give you the price for one pound. If we do 29.85/1.5 we get 19.9 and if we do 20.28/1.2 we get 16.9. 19.9 > 16.9. We always want the better deal, so I would choose the granny apples.
