So if we have 30 students, and 2:3 ratio of boys to girls, there are more boys than girls. If we multiply each by 10, we will find our answer: 2*10:3*10 = 20:30.
So we have 20 Boys, and 10 Girls. Alright boys settle down, there aren't enough girls to go around. XDD
Hmm! There are more girtls than boys.
boys/girls = 2/3
Split the 30 into 5 parts (2 + 3 = 5) to get 6 students per part
Two parts are boys: 2*6 = 12
Three parts are girls: 3*6 = 18
i.e. There are 12 boys and 18 girls.
If the ratio is 2:3 2 out of 5 are boys 3 out of 5 are girls
2/5 x 30 = 12 boys
3/5 x 30 = 18 are girls
