Rationalize the denominator for each of the following expressions.
a. 1/(2 + √3)
b. 3/(√5 - √2)
c. √5/(2√3 + 7)
For each of them, you want to multiply the numerator and denominator by the conjugate of the denominator.
1/(2 + √3) * (2 - √3)/(2 - √3) = (2 - √3)/(2^2 - sqrt(3)^2) = (2-sqrt(3))/1 = 2-sqrt(3)
Try the other ones. :))
