in a rectangular garden the width is two feet less than length. If each dimension is increased by 3 feet what is the equation that represent the new area?

in a rectangular garden the width is two feet less than length. If each dimension is increased by 3 feet what is the equation that represent the new area?

 

Let the original length be L

then the width will be L-2

 

Now add 3 to each of these.  That will give you the new dimensions

 

Multiply new length by new width to get new area.   it will be in feet squared :)
