I've been stuck on this question for a while now, and still don't get it!
10/3=3.333r
3.333r*3=9.999r
Can somebody help me understand where the 0.000000r1 went?

1/9 = 0.1111...
2/9 = 0.2222...
7/9 = 0.7777...
9/9 = 0.9999... = 1
So actually 0.999... = 1
So we could use this in your question, 9.999r = 1
So 3.3333r * 3 = 9.999999... = 9 + 0.99999... = 9+1 = 10
