   A guy wire to a tower is 180 ft long and makes an angle of 34 degrees.     

   If the ground it level, how far from the base of the tower is the anchor point?     

   cosine =  adjacent over hypotenuse     

   cos( 34^o )  =  x / 180 ft     

       0.8290  =  x / 180 ft     

                x  =  (0.8290) • 180 ft     

                x  =  149.22 ft
