Sabrina and Raj go together to a local video store. Sabrina rents two movies and three games for a total cost of $24.30. Raj rents three movies and one game for a total cost of $18.25. How much does it cost to rent one movie? How much does it cost to rent one game?

Let the price of a movie = M

Let the price of a game = G

2M + 3G =24.30...............(1)

3M + G  =18.25...............(2)

Use substitution:

G = $5.20 - price of 1 game.

M = $4.35 - price of 1 movie.

You can also use elimination:

Movies=m, Games=g

So, 2m+3g=24.30

3m+1g=18.25

Find the LCM of 3 and 2, which is 6.

So, 6m+9g=72.90

6m+2g=36.5

Canceling both 6m's, we have:

7g=36.4

g=\(\boxed{5.2}\)

m=4.35

But, since we're asking for the rent of one game, the answer is \(\boxed{5.2}\)
