The 3rd and 6th terms of a geometric progression are 8 and 64 respectively. Find the value of the 9th term

8==F * R^2,   

64==F *  R^5, solve for F, R

 

Divide the 2nd by the 1st and should get:

 

F==2 - this is the first term

D==2 - this is the common ratio.

 

9th term ==[2 * 2^8]==512

 

Your sequence looks like this:

2 , 4 , 8 , 16 , 32 , 64 , 128 , 256 , 512 , 1024 , >>Number of terms = 10>>Total Sum == 2046
