You have to do thing s in specific order to get consistent answers....otherwise different people would get different answers to the SAME question because they did things in different order.
John: 2 + 3 x 4 = 24 (correct ! Do multiplication first)
mark 2 + 3 x 4 = 20 (incorrect....must do mult first NOT addition)
