Simplify the following expression. (x + 6)3

melody i think well simplify it like this ;

$$x^3+3x^2 * 6 +3x * 6^2+6^3$$

$$=x^3+18x^2+108x+216$$   ANSWER

here is the simplification of the expression;

(x +6)3

=3x + 18  ANSWER (we have multiplied x and 6 by 3 )

That depends 

If the question meant (x+6)*3 then yes your answer is correct,

However, I expect that the question was supposed to be (x+6)³

in which case the answer would be

$$x^3+3x^2\times 6+3x\times 6^2+6^3$$

okay Rosala, I certainly did not expect you to understand how I got it - it is a bit tricky.

But I think you might be able to simplify it.  I will give you a start.

$$x^3+(3x^2\times 6)+(3x\times 6^2)+(6^3)$$

Can you simplify the bits inside the brackets?

If you can't I will help some more.

It is almost right Rosala,  you have made a mistake on the second line and it has carried through to your final answer.  Can you find it by yourself?  I think that you can!

melody ive tried a lot but i cant figure out the mistake ! is it with the two x² ?will they be cut or what !

Rosala; hint:  you have too many x²'s and not enough x's

so will the x²s be cut and then ill just plus the both numbers ! is it that the thing !

$$3x\times6^2$$

i think it is like;

3x * 6²   so 

=3x * 36 

=108x  is this the answer !

Now put it together with the rest of the answer.

Oops! that was my mistake ! how can i be so careless on it ! im correcting it right now in the same answer ! check it then! i dont believe it how can i make such a silly mistake !
