I need to simplify sec x cot x sin\({^2}\) x to one of the three primary trig functions, sin x, cos x, or tan x.
so far I've done (1/cos x)(sin x/ cos x)(sin\({^2}\) x /1). It's the squared sine that's making me confused.
how should I simplify it?
sec x cot x sin^2 x
\(\sec x\cdot \cot x \cdot\sin^2 x\\ =\frac{1}{ \cos x}\cdot \frac{\cos x}{\sin x}\cdot \frac{\sin^2x}{1}\\ =\sin x\)
The rest cancels out.
