$$\\0=a+\frac{8}{3}+\frac{1}{3}*a\\\\
0=a+\frac{8}{3}+\frac{a}{3}\\\\
0*3=3\left(a+\frac{8}{3}+\frac{a}{3}\right)\\\\
0=3a+8+a\\\\
0=4a+8\\\\
-8=4a\\\\
-2=a\\\\
a=-2$$

0=a+8/3+1/3a

a+1/3a= 1_1/3a

8/3=2_2/3

0-2_2/3=-2_2/3

-2_2/3=1 1/3a

divide both sides

a=-2
