The function f satisfies

\(f(\sqrt{x + 1}) = \frac{1}{x}\)

for all \(x\neq 0.\)  Find \(f(2)\).

f ( √ [ x + 1) )   =  1  / x

f(2)   implies that

2  = √ [x + 1 ]        square both sides

4  = x + 1      subtract 1 from  both sides

3  = x

So

f(2)    =     1 / 3
