I have 12 dice which were rolled a certain distance on a flat surface the sum x = 48m derived from each roll and the sum of x squared =192.38 I need to calculate the mean (which is 4) and the standards deviation to 2 decimal places. How do I calculate the standard deviation?

The standard deviation can be expressed as follows

sd

In your case n = 12;   μ=48/n  and the sum of the x2 terms is 192.38.

I'll leave you to do the number crunching!
