This formula is used for calculating the resonant freqency of a circuit consisting of a resistor, capacitor and a coil (a very common and useful circuit).

I keep getting different results each iteration and don't understand why...

f= 1/ 6.28* sqrt of (40*10^-6)*(200*10^-12)

Steps:

I perform the multiplications inside the parentheses

take the square root of their product

multiply that by 2.68

divide 1 by that number...

no matter what, the answer I get never agrees with the text and I don't understand why.

Can anyone assist by providing the answer you obtain so as to confirm whether or not the text is correct?

Thanks

If this is how it is written:  1/ 6.28* sqrt {(40*10^-6)*(200*10^-12)}=?, then the answer should be:

=1.42425… × 10^-8
