I first picked option A because thats what I think was right and AI and even google was saying its correct... but it ended up being wrong so then I picked option C. because that was my next bet because AI and other forums then said its wold be correct WHICH IT WASNT. what is the correct ANSWER the

THE ANSWER IS EITHER OPTION B OR D EXPLAIN IF IT IS EITHER ONE

The areas of the squares created by the side lengths of the triangle are shown. Which best explains whether this triangle is a right triangle?

The set is 9, 12, and 15

OR

One leg is 9...

Second leg is 12...

The hypotenuse is 15.....

Here are the options ( I only allowed to pick one answer )

Based on the converse of the Pythagorean theorem, the triangle is a right triangle because 9^2 + 12^2 = 15^2. ( what i picked )

Based on the converse of the Pythagorean theorem, the triangle is not a right triangle because 9 + 12 does not equal 15.

Based on the converse of the Pythagorean theorem, the triangle is not a right triangle because 9^2 + 12^2 does not equal 15^2. ( what I picked on my second try on the quiz )

Based on the converse of the Pythagorean theorem, the triangle is not a right triangle because 9 + 15 does not equal 12.
