Suppose that there is a right triangle ABC such that the legs AB and AC have lengths 4sqrt2 and 2 respectively. What is the length of the median BM?

We can use the Pythagorean Theorem, here

BM  =  sqt [ (4sqrt(2) ^2 + 1^2 ]  =    sqrt ( 32 + 1 )  =   sqrt (33) ≈  5.74

Here's a pic :

I use the same math thing as the user who posted this, and I came here to check my answer, and i put in sqrt33.

it was the wrong answer

I thought it was sqrt(32+1)

just like CPhill...
