tan(90) = 44/x How do you solve this? Is there a special formula or what? My online math teacher is useless and her lessons don't actually show how to solve a similar triangle with only 1 side length and the area.

tan(90) = 44/x

x*tan(90) = 44 <--- Cross multiply the original equation.

Divide by tan(90):

x = 44/tan(90).

Use the calculator on the home page to solve this. Make sure it is set to degrees, which it is by default.
