A delivery person uses a service elevator to bring boxes of books up to an office. The delivery person weighs 150 lb and each box of books weighs 40 lb. The maximum capacity of the elevator is1060 lb. How many boxes of books can the delivery person bring up at one​ time?

We need to  solve this

 

150  + 40N  ≤ 1060        where  N  is the max number of boxes that can be brought at one time

 

Subtract  150   from  both sides

 

40N ≤  910       divide both sides  by 40

 

N ≤ 22.75

 

So...22  boxes at one time  [ if we can't bring "partial" boxes  ]

1,060 - 150 = 910/40 = 22.75
