I am quite impressed with what you have found and displayed in this post.

Do you mind giving it a new title
(we can do that in this forum)
Maybe call it something like 'Display tips' or 'Mathematics display ideas' or something like that.
And put the i symbol in the margin title.

I use some display techniques that i probably should share with people too.
This would make a really worth while ongoing thread'

I am not so impressed the log display page. This caclulator does some weird things.

also, how do i display the quadratic formula, i am obviously not doing it correctly.

Hey Melody,

I sent you a pm on most of your questions but did want to answer this one seperately.

The calculator doesn't give you the right output, simply because it can't give you an answer to the equation.

Obviously the calculator is not meant to calculate instead of formulate (even though it might sometimes be useful for that).

the equation x=(-b{+ or -}sqrt(b ²-4ac))/(2a) is not solvable since there is no x on the right side.

I suppose i should have realized that.
If we use this as an information thread then these last posts should be deleted I guess.
there is no point in having garbage in an information post.
A post can be deleted by the person posting so long as it is the final post in the thread.

Lately when I bump things I delete the last 'bump' post first before i do a new 'bump' post.
this way there is only one bump and not an endless procession of them.

I've been thinking about the log posts. I guess you chose those numbers just to show the down side but if positive numbers are chosen the log display would also be very useful and should definitely be included. Could you put together something worth while, either with one of these two OR it might be easier just to copy and paste the good bits into a fresh post.

I really appreciate the effort you have put into this.
