The Dallas Cowboys started the season with a record of 2-7 ( 2wins, 7 losses). How many consecutive games must they win in order to raise their winning record to 56%?
Needs also an equation
If you need an equation: let x represent the number of games needed
Then, the number of wins will be x + 2
and, the total number of games will be x + 7
You need: (x + 2)/(x + 7) = 0.56
Cross-multiplying: x + 2 = 0.56(x + 7)
---> x + 2 = 0.56x + 3.92
---> 0.44x + 2 = 2.92
---> 0.44x = 0.92
---> x = 2.1 games
Winning the next 2 will get you close; winning the next 3 will get you "at least 56%".
OH EVEN I KNOW THIS ONE NEVER! XD anyways lets just start off by saying this is a pretty accurate win/loss for the cowboys. Anyway you cant get 56% if 7 games is the highest limit. You can only get 57% which is a 4-7 win/loss streak by dividing 4/7 of course a 3.99/7 can get you 56% but come on... 3.99 wins. Hence! MAking this question illogical! And therefor it cannot be solved correctly if corresponding to said example!
