The hare challenged the tortoise to a race form the water fountain to the park bench. in order to ensure a fair race,the tortoise will start 100 feet in front of the hare. The tortoise is walking at a rate of 2 feet per min the hare is walking at a rate of 6 feet per min. 1.How long will it take for the hare to catch up to the tortoise?

The hare is walking 4 feet/min faster than the tortoise.

To gain 100 feet, there will have to be:  100 ft ÷ 4 ft/min  =  25 minutes.

Yes, but that one was the hare had to wait until the tortoise walked 100 feet how long did the hare have to wait be for he would start. And this is the Question: How long will it take for the hare to catch up to the tortoise?
