sqrt of x can be written as x^(1/2)

x^(1/2)=5.2

to get x, square both sides

[x^(1/2)]^(2)= 5.2^(2)

x^(2/2)=5.2^(2)

x^1=27.04 or same as x=27.04 is the answer

√x=5.2

To remove a square root sign, get the square root to be alone on one side (like it is here) and square both sides.

(√x)²=(5.2)²

x = 5.2 x 5.2 = 27.04
