What should be filled in next?
Numbers are 1-25

(the yellow box is only yellow because I selected it, any square can be filled in, so C4 is not necessarily the box which should be filled in)

Can you give me the link to this game please reinout?
Has it been Sporcle Verified?
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
For those not in the know.
I recognise this as a game from the Sporcle site. I have been trying to get people interested in that site for ever!
http://www.sporcle.com/
There are easy games as well as hard ones. They are many different categories. Like sport ,literature science, movies in fact just about anything you can think of.
Just in the last couple of days reinout and I have challenged each other in these games
chess,
I hate sports
ia countries,
N countries
1 - 100
and I am sure others as well.

'I hate sports' was a fun one. Reinout almost always wins, but it is fun.

I haven't checked my logic very well but I think that C1 has to be 18

Then you will probably be given another clue

but I think that B1 has to be 16 or 17

I agree with Melody, C1 has to be 18.

You're both right, the diagonal seperates the right upper half and the lower down half in a <15 and >15 part {took me forever to figure this out}

Therefore it indeed has to be 18.

Never mind! Figured it out. You can still try it if you want a challenge though!

However I'm now stuck here.

For those giving advise. Please explain why.
It's a logic puzzle, so I do not want to be guessing the right answers.

Never mind! Figured it out. You can still try it if you want a challenge though!

E5 must be 12.
It's not prime so it can't be at B5, it's divisible by 6 so can't go in C4 and it will be too big to go in A4 or D4.

Even though I'm currently at a point where I know you are right, at this point it still could've been at A3.

Be aware that in *15* they only mean the square which is diagonally at the right-bottom.

Rats !
OK., B5 has to be 11.
Look at the two primes between 17 and 13, the possibilities are 2, 3; 2, 5; 2, 11; 3, 2; 3, 5; 3, 11; 5, 2; 5, 3; 5, 11; 11, 2; 11, 3; 11, 5.
We can strike out those containing an 11since if in first position we run out of numbers along the diagonal and in the second because it forces a 12 into the box below the 13.
We can also rule out those with a 2 in the second position since that would force a 1 into A2.
Also rule out 2, 3 since that would force a 2 into A2.
That leaves us with 2, 5; 3, 5 and 5, 3.
In each case the final prime B5 must be 11.

Hi reinout,
I'm sorry that i didn't explain my logic. It was of course the same as yours.
I thought that perhaps you just wanted a hint, which came in the form of the next number. I wasn't sure you actually wanted an explanation. I knew you would get there by yourself eventually.
Now, are you going to send me the challenge. I want to do it in sporcle. Pretty Please with sprinkles on top.

Hey Bertie,
Why don't you join us in Sporcle as well? There are some other puzzles like this one.

My username in Sporcle is Melody2

I am with reinout.
Why can't A3 be 12 Why does it have to be E5?
I'm sorry, I think that you have made a retraction and added a new answer.
I didn't notice.

So at this point E5 does not have to be 12 but B5 has to be 11.
I won't look at your logic - I will think about it first.
Thank you Bertie.
