In right triangle JKB, angles J and B are complementary angles. If cos J = 9/12, what is the value of sin B?
Since sine and cosine are opposite trig functions, sin(B) is also 9/12 or 3/4
\(\angle J\) and \(\angle B\) are complementary => \(\angle J + \angle B = 90^\circ\) => \(\angle B = 90^\circ - \angle J\)
\(\sin B = \sin(90^\circ - J) = \cos J = \dfrac 9 {12} =\dfrac34\)
Asker can you please tell me what complimentary means? Do you know?
If you don'r know then look it up.
Either way please answer my question.
