In how many ways can four people line up in a straight line if the youngest person cannot be first in line?
i got 18 guys. 3*3*2, because if u use a b c d as the people, d is youngest so 12*2-6=24-6=18
ALL of the possible ways for the four people to line up would be 4 x 3 x 2 x 1 = 24 BUT 1/4 would need to be excluded from the count because the youngest would be first in 1/4 of the line ups sooooo 3/4 * 24 = 18 ways
