Good afternoon, this test was 12 questions, I figured out the rest of them, but these 3 gave me problems... thanks for the help!! :)
2.What are the values of the trigonometric ratios for this triangle?
Drag the answer into the box to match each ratio.
3. What is the value of x in this triangle?
Enter your answer as a decimal in the box. Round only your final answer to the nearest hundredth.
x = °
9.What is the area of this triangle?
Enter your answer as a decimal in the box. Round only your final answer to the nearest tenth.
First one :
sin = opposite / hypotenuse = 8/17
cos = adjacent / hypotenuse = 15/17
tan = opposite / adjacent = 8/15
Second one :
Notice that we know an opposite and adjacent side to angle "x"....this implies that
tan x = opposite / adjacent = 5/20 = 1/4
To find "x," use the tangent inverse [atan ]
So we have
atan (1/4) = x ≈ 14.04°
Last one :
We know 2 sides and an included angle between these sides....so...we can use this to find the area :
Area = (1/2) (8) (7) sin (28°) ≈ 13.2 cm ^2
