sin = opposite / hypotenuse = 8/17
cos = adjacent / hypotenuse = 15/17
tan = opposite / adjacent = 8/15
Second one :
Notice that we know an opposite and adjacent side to angle "x"....this implies that
tan x = opposite / adjacent = 5/20 = 1/4
To find "x," use the tangent inverse [atan ]
So we have
atan (1/4) = x ≈ 14.04°
Last one :
We know 2 sides and an included angle between these sides....so...we can use this to find the area :
Area = (1/2) (8) (7) sin (28°) ≈ 13.2 cm ^2
