Suppose you are in a sailboat in the West Philippine Sea going to Manila. Your captain has already mapped your route on the map and your job as the navigator is to draw the displacement vectors along the route so that you can sail. If wind and sea currents are not present, the sailboat will travel eastward maintaining a constant speed. But since there are mostly southward wind and sea currents, you are able to adjust the sail and follow the route safely to your destination.

Draw displacement vectors along the route from the West Philippine Sea to Manila. You should be able to trace the route with several displacement vectors connected head-to-tail. You may use as many vectors as needed. For each displacement vector, draw the x-and ycomponents. Feel free to use different colors for each component in each vector. Use the scale on the map or add gridlines so that the vector components are drawn to scale. Estimate the distance and displacement traveled by your sailboat. Lastly, draw the path of your sailboat if the wind and sea currents (i.e. y-component of each displacement vector) are not presen
