Prime numbers are numbers that can only be divided by 1 and itself. The first five prime numbers are 2, 3, 5, 7, 11, and so on.

Composite numbers are numbers that are divisible by integers other than 1 and itself. The first five composite numbers are 4, 6, 8, 9, 12

1 is not considered a prime number or a composite number.
