So my family decided to unload math on me to boost my grade a little.

I'm stuck on a subject.

I don't know how to find the zeroes in a quadratic equation.

One of the problems is the following;

x² - 12 = 28

And I don't know how to do it. Can anyone help?

The equation is x 2 -12 = 28

First of all, thanks for using superscript; it makes it easier to read:)

So this is a simple equation; first move the -12 to the other side to isolate x 2.
x 2 = 28+12
x 2 = 40
take the square root of both sides.

x= + or - sqrt(40)
This is b/c square roots have two roots, a positive and a negative one.
Now try simplifying the square root of 40.
