or\\

well first you need to get rid of the decimal.

3.2/1 is correct, but not acceptable so multiply both sides by five

3.2*5 =16
1*5=5

16/5 = 3.2 and theres you goes

 

i multiplied by five because i know some decimals offhand but usually you can just multiply by 10

3.2*10 = 32
(32/2 =16, 10/2=5)
32/10 simplifies into 16/5
