It's the answer you get when dividing.

For example. 6/3=2. 2 is the quotient

A quotient is the number you get when you divide one number by another. It's sort of the "answer" you get when you divide two numbers:

 

4/2 = 2;        2 is the quotient

1/4 = 0,25;   0,25 is the quotient

1/11 = 0,090909090....        0,0909090909... is the quotient
