I should mention that this works with multiplication, too....but not  (generally) with subtraction or division

For instance   4 x 8  = 8 x 4

But  4 - 3 ≠ 3 - 4

And 8 / 4  ≠  4 / 8    !!!

The commutative property allows you to swap numbers around and still get the same answer.

Ex:

2 + 1 = 1 + 2
