Pi, the mathematical term, is the ratio of a circle's circumference to its diameter. It's an infinite, unrepeating number.
Pie, the food, on the other hand, has a flour-based crust on the bottom and sides (and sometimes, top), and usually has a meat-, vegetable-, or fruit-based filling.
