what is the formula for point-slope, the question is (0,4) and (-5,5) it says to write an equation in point slope form

( 0 , 4)   and  (-5, 5 )

Find the slope :

Subtract the y coordinates  in some order                5 - 4                 1           

____________________________________   =    ____      =      ____    

Subtract the x coordinates in the same  order         -5 - 0               - 5           

So  using either points  -  I ' ll choose (0, 4)  we have the point slope form

y - y coordinate of our point  = ( slope ) ( x - x coordinate of our point )

y -  4  = (-1/5) ( x - 0 )

And that's point-slope form
