What is the slope of the line 3x - 2y = 6

First of all, let's get y on one side and x on the other.

 

So, start by adding 2y to both sides. Now you have 3x=2y+6.

 

Now, subtract 6 from both sides. You now have 3x-6=2y.

 

Then, divide by 2 on both sides. You now have 1.5x-3=y

 

The slope in y=mx+b is the number in spot m.  The number in spot m is 1.5, so the slope is 1.5 .
