You cannot Sqrt a negative number if this comes up. It would become a complex number. Unless you take the absolute value in which case you can just Sqrt the positive I believe. Just for reference.
I know. It's there now for the search engine and for op to develop a desire to question. Unless it just makes the person confused, but in which case it will either be ignored or start a discussion in my opinion. As well, it is relevant to this part of learning in maths so when the op gets a negative inside a sqrt they know what they can and can't do with it. ;)
