Hi,

In my class we need to write an equation based on these points:

x        y

24     0.44

28     0.59

35     0.98

49     1.73

57     2.42

64     3

75     4.23

82     4.92

When it's graphed, it looks roughly like a geometric sequence, and because the x's are spaced out pretty unevenly, I'm a little unsure how to go about this.  I appreciate any help!  :)

Here's the regression line equation I calculated using this site :  http://www.alcula.com/calculators/statistics/linear-regression/

y=0.076558900322531x-1.673173091691

[Check my input....I think I entered all the values correctly...!!!  ]

Hope that helps.....

Well, I'm still a little confused.  Are all scatter plots meant to be linear? Or can they be exponential, in y=ab^x form?  (Just wondering)

This is a linear equation  in the form y = mx + b........I'm not familiar with an exponential scatter plot, but, there may be such a thing......!!!!!
