Did you try the calculator on this site?

- Press "2nd" key in the top left-hand corner.

- You should see a key labled "mod" to the right.

- Enter your first number, 512, then "mod" key followed by 6. Does it give you the remainder of 8?

- If you don't get 8, repeat the procedure: 512 mod 12. Does it give you the remainder of 8?

- If it does, go to the next number: 430 mod 12. Does it give you the remainder of 10?

- If it does, go to the next number: 489 mod 12. Does it give you the remainde of 9?

- If it gives the remainders of: 8, 10 and 9, then your "modulus" is 12, or B.......and so on.

- Good luck to you.
