Fibonacci was an Italian mathematician.  He lived from about 1170 to 1250.

He 'toyed with' lots of cool concepts!

Thanks for that website kitty<3....I discovered it, too, about 3-4 years ago...fascinating and easy to understand (which is good for an idiot like me!!).  I think - if I remember correctly - that there might be a link to the Lucas Numbers from this page......equally fascinating connections between those two series!!!
