Jade is selling fruit baskets to raise money for a new homeless shelter in town. An apple fruit basket sells for $25 and citrus fruit basket sells for $40. The number of citrus fruit baskets Jade sells must be greater than or equal to 4 times the number of apple fruit baskets she sells. She has at most 50 fruit baskets to sell.

The number of apple fruit baskets sold is represented by x and the number of citrus fruit baskets sold is represented by y.

What is the maximum revenue she can make?

$540

$1850

$2000

$2150

Here are the  constraint equations we need

y ≥ 4x

x + y ≤ 50

And we want to maximize this revenue function, R

R  = 25x  + 40y

Here is a gaph of the constraints : https://www.desmos.com/calculator/kybxhc7dvb

The  revenue is maximized at the corner point  (10, 40)

So...the max revenue  is  25(10)  + 40(40)   =  250 +  1600   =  $1850
