My daughter has as many sisters as brothers. Each of her brothers has twice as many sisters as brothers. How many sons and daughters do I have?

Let b = boys and g = girls

b = g-1     the number of boys is one less than the number of girls

g = 2(b-1)     a brother has b-1 brothers.and twice as many sisters

You now have two equations for two unknowns.  Can you take it from here?
