Scott and Dale are at a baseball game. Each decides to buy some concessions. Scott buys 3 hotdogs and 2 sodas for the cost of $\$14.00$. Dale decides to purchase 4 hotdogs and 1 soda for $\$14.50$. How much does the stadium charge for its hotdogs and sodas each?

4 hotdogs + 1 sodas = 14.5

3 hotdogs + 2 sodas = 14

We have our two equations now.

8h + 2s = 29

3h + 2s = 14

Now we can cancel out the sodas and subtract the two equations

This means that:

5h = 15

That would mean that 1 hotdog is $3.

That would mean that 1 soda cost $2.5.

Hope that helps!!! :)
